2013 Connecticut Youth State Champions from this weekend at T-Bowl Lanes represent CT
Newington, Connecticut - The 2013 Connecticut State Youth Championships took place this past weekend at T-Bowl Lanes to determine who would represent CT at the Nationals the weekend of June 21-23. The results are posted below. The BAC would like to congratulate all on some great bowling, and best of luck at the Nationals in June!

Jason Smith wins 3rd Star, DPBA Pro Tour Stop at Highland Bowl defeating Mike Herbert
Cheshire, Connecticut - The BAC would like to congratulate Jason Smith on winning his Third Pro Tour Star this past weekend at Highland Bowl defeating Mike Herbert 166-150. For additional information, check out the DPBA on www.dpbatour.com
Mike Labrie wins BAC Series Finals at Holiday Lanes defeating Becky Airhart in final match
Connecticut - Mike Labrie won the 2013 BAC Series Finals at Holiday Lanes on April 13. Mike won his last five games on the ladder defeating all five and winning the title. In his division play, Mike went 3.5 - 1.5 with 761 sratch (851 with handicap) and earned him the 5th seed on the ladder. He then went on to defeat all five of his opponents capped off by some of the best bowling of the day. His five ladder games were 185, 160, 171, 132 & 157 scratch. The BAC would like to congratulate Mike on his victory.

Paul Tobin wins Dan Lopardo Memorial at Highland Bowl this past weekend
Cheshire, Connecticut - The BAC would like to congratulate Paul Tobin on winning the 2013 Dan Lopardo Memorial Tournament, BAC Series Stop #8, held at Highland Bowl. Paul had 763 scratch, including games of 141-157-142-138-185. That gave him a combined total of 909 with his handicap.
Second place went to Sean Loteczka with a scratch score of 783, games of 152-148-199-153-131. That gave Sean a combined total with handicap of 884. His scratch score was also tops for the weekend. In third place was Kris Semeraro with a combined total of 851, 754 scratch. Rounding out the top 5 were Mark Roux in fourth with 845, 733 scratch, and Elena Foldeak with 837, 710 scratch.
The BAC would like to thank all of the bowlers that came out to support Highland Bowl and the final BAC Series Stop of the season. The BAC Finals will be held at Holiday Lanes on April 13. Any bowlers in the top 36 must contact Jack Dansereau and confirm if they are bowling or not attending. Bowling will begin at 9:30am, so please try to arrive by 9:00am. Good luck to everyone bowling.
John T. Zikis wins again at Barnum Lanes, the Wilda Guerrette Good Friday Tournament this past weekend
Stratford, Connecticut - The BAC would like to congratulate John T. Zikis on winning the 2013 Wilda Guerrette Good Friday Tournament held at Barnum Lanes. John had 824 scratch and with his handicap he finished with a total of 876. Second place went to Paul Tobin who had 840, 694 scratch . Third Place went to Mike Trepanier with 839, 753 scratch.

Ron Pelletier wins 83rd Eastern Classic for second year in a row in dramatic finish

Mansfield, CT - Congratulations to Ron Pelletier on winning his second consecutive Frank Barber Memorial Eastern Duckpin Classic with an unofficial total score of 1869. He had 996 on Saturday and 873 on Sunday that finished with a last box finish to win the title. Second place went to Steve Dryer who almost passed Ron out in the final game, as he finished with 1856 unofficially.
The second weekends leader, Wayne Matheson who started the day with 1009 for his first six, finished in third place with 1828 unofficially. Greg Schriefer finished fourth with 1816 and Colin Dunnack finished fifth with 1807.

Results of the 83rd FBM Eastern Duckpin Classic
Brian Ewing and Ed Fenton win the Hip Correnti Memorial Tournament this weekend with 865
Manchester, Connecticut- The BAC would like to congratulate both Brian Ewing and Ed Fenton on winning the 2013 Hip Correnti Memorial Tournament held this weekend at Holiday Lanes. Brian and Ed finished with a total score with handicap pins of 865. Brian's games included 138, 146, 127, 215, 153 for 779 scratch and Ed's games included 149, 176, 117, 154, 108 for 704 scratch.
Third place went to Mike Nicholson who finished with a total of 853 and had a high game of 227. Mike Labrie finished 4th with 843 and Mark Roux finished 5th with 834. The BAC would like to thank Holiday Lanes and their staff for hosting this event, the 6th BAC Series Stop. A special thanks to Brian Ewing for directing the tournament this weekend. And thank you to all of the BAC bowlers that came out this weekend and supported this event and Holiday Lanes. The tournament had a total of 51 entries. Next tournament will be at Lucky Strike in Mansfield on March 23-24. Shifts are 12 & 3 on Saturday and 12 on Sunday. The Third Weekend of the 83rd National Duckpin Tournament continues this Weekend
Cheshire, Connecticut - The Second Weekend of the 83rd NDBC National Tournament was completed this past weekend. There were many bowlers from Rhode Island and Connecticut that came out this weekend and supported the tournament.
The highlights of the second weekend included a change in the leaderboard for 'Singles B' and the 'Doubles' divisions. Kevin Kroll took the lead in the Singles B rolling scores of 121, 160 and 121 for 402 scratch. With his pins he finished with 534, just 6 ahead of the next competitor. In doubles, Brian Ewing of CT and Andy Fierlit of RI had a total of 1002 with handicap. Brian had 400 scratch with games of 169, 115 and 116, and Andy had 443 scratch with scores of 158, 122 and 163.

All NDBC bowlers are encouraged to come out and join us for the Second Weekend at Highland Bowl, May 17-May 19. There are no set shift times for the event, as long as lanes are available you can jump right on. The tournament availability times are:
Fridays: 5:00pm - 10:00pm, Saturdays 11:00am - 6:00pm, Sundays 11:00am - 5:00pm and Memorial Day from 11:00am - 5:00pm.

Stacy Kelley wins the Ann Schmitter Memorial at Lucky Strike Lanes this past weekend
Mansfield, Connecticut - The BAC would like to congratulate Stacy Kelley on winning the 2013 Ann Schmitter Memorial, BAC Series Stop #7 held at Lucky Strike Lanes. Stacy had 725 scratch with games of 142, 133, 173, 142 & 135. With his handicap he finished with a total of 852.

2013 Ann Schmitter Memorial Results
Lucky Strike Lanes appeared on Better Connecticut with Scot Haney on Feb. 26th
Connecticut - Lucky Strike Lanes appeared on Better Connecticut on Channel 3 on February 26 at 3:00 pm with host Scot Haney . Scot recently visited the renovated lanes and had a segment on Lucky Strike and the Eastern Classic being held as well as getting on the lanes himself. Connecticut Youth Team #3 wins Youth North -South Matches this weekend in Maryland
Silver Springs, Maryland - The annual February North/South Challenge Matches were run this past weekend down in Maryland. The BAC would like to congratulate Connecticut Team #3 on finishing in the top spot after twelve games with a record of 9-3. The members of the winning team were Eric Carpenter (T-Bowl), Maria Carta (T-Bowl), Jack Tomas (Perillo’s), Jon Behler (Johnson’s) and Kristen Cochefski (T-Bowl). A total of 17 bowlers from Connecticut participated in the tournament which included teams from Maryland , Rhode Island and Connecticut.
Team CT #1 finished in 5th place. Members of this team were Joe Ferland (Perillo’s), Jason Yakerson (Johnson’s), Monica Sheren (T-Bowl), Avryan White (T-Bowl) and Ericka DeStefano (Johnson’s). Team CT #2 finished in 8th place. Members included Matt Ganoe (Lucky Strike), Kayla Boyce (T-Bowl), Tyler Connaughton (T-Bowl), Nick DiBattista (Perillo’s) and Brandon Dominique (Lucky Strike). Two additional CT bowlers were added to a team from Maryland and bowled very well. They were Ashley Hayford and Dylan Connaughton-both from T-Bowl Lanes.
Three Connecticut bowlers won individual awards as well. Ericka DeStefano won high average with 143, Brandon Dominique won high game for the boys with 172 and Jack Tomas won high triple for the boys with 429. Congratulations on your winning performances! See below for the results.
North/South NDYA Challenge Match Results
Another added bonus for the bowlers was running into Scot Haney from WFSB-3 who was at the lanes with a friend from college. He posed for a couple of pictures and showed them on Better Connecticut on Monday, February 18. He also talked about duckpin bowling a little bit. It was nice to get some exposure for our game.
